The Independent Institute of Education (IIE) is a registered private higher education provider and a wholly owned subsidiary of ADvTECH Ltd, listed on the JSE.
The IIE’s Academic Centre of Excellence (ACE) is excited to invite applications for the role of an experienced Change & Digital Enablement Lead to support the adoption of our Academic Quality Management System (AQMS) across our tertiary education brands.
The AQMS is a strategic initiative designed to strengthen how we manage academic quality, oversight, and reporting across the institution. It introduces clearer governance processes, improved visibility, and greater consistency in how quality responsibilities are executed.
The Change & Digital Enablement Lead plays a central role in ensuring that the system is understood, used correctly, and embedded into daily practice. They design structured learning pathways, practical enablement resources, and aligned support mechanisms to drive consistent adoption across brands.
This role works closely with academic leaders, compliance teams, IT, and Brand AQMS Champions to build internal capability and ensure sustainable use of the system.
Role purpose:
The Change & Digital Enablement Lead is responsible for designing and embedding the adoption approach for the Academic Quality Management System (AQMS) across participating brands.
This role ensures that academic and operational stakeholders understand how to use the system correctly, consistently, and confidently. It establishes structured learning pathways, practical training resources, and aligned support mechanisms to drive effective uptake of governance processes.
Working closely with Brand AQMS Champions, this role implements a train-the-trainer model that builds internal capability and ensures continued adoption beyond the initial implementation phase.
Change and Adoption Strategy
- Develop a structured AQMS adoption and enablement roadmap
- Conduct stakeholder impact assessments
- Identify adoption risks and resistance points
- Align enablement milestones with programme delivery phases
Digital Learning Architecture
- Design role-based learning pathways and onboarding journeys
- Define modular micro-learning frameworks
- Establish standards for instructional content development
- Oversee development of structured training materials
Support Model Integration
- Design structured help desk workflows aligned to governance processes
- Define support categorisation and escalation pathways
- Establish knowledge base taxonomy and self-service enablement structure
- Align support data with adoption and performance indicators
Train-the-Trainer Enablement
- Develop facilitation toolkits for Brand AQMS Champions
- Conduct structured enablement sessions
- Support Champions during early rollout phases
- Transition ongoing enablement ownership to brand-level stakeholders
Communication and Engagement
- Develop structured communication cadence aligned to programme milestones
- Reinforce governance expectations through targeted messaging
- Support leadership communications where required
Adoption Monitoring and Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with the Data Analyst to define adoption indicators
- Monitor behavioural adherence and system usage patterns
- Recommend targeted learning or reinforcement interventions
- Adjust enablement strategy based on data-driven insights
Required Experience & Capability
- 4–7 years’ experience in organisational change, digital enablement, or system adoption roles within enterprise environments
- Experience designing structured training, onboarding, or capability development frameworks
- Experience facilitating both virtual and in-person workshops
- Experience supporting enterprise system or governance-focused implementations
- Experience designing structured support models, knowledge resources, or enablement frameworks
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication capability across multiple organisational levels
- Experience operating within structured, compliance-driven, or governance-oriented environments
Advantageous:
- Experience in higher education or regulated sectors
- Exposure to train-the-trainer models
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in: Organisational Psychology, Human Resource Management, Education, Business Management, or Learning & Development
Advantageous
- Certification in Change Management
- Experience in enterprise system rollouts
- Exposure to governance-driven or regulated environments

- Ability to translate complex governance requirements into clear and accessible learning journeys
- Strong planning discipline and structured execution capability
- Confidence engaging academic and operational stakeholders across multiple levels
- A focus on sustainable capability transfer rather than short-term training delivery
- Comfort operating in a primarily virtual delivery environment, with flexibility for hybrid engagement where required
Performance Indicators
- Delivery of a structured and phased adoption and enablement roadmap
- Quality, clarity, and usability of learning pathways and support materials
- Demonstrated capability and confidence of Brand AQMS Champions to support local adoption
- Consistent and correct use of AQMS processes across brands
- Measurable reduction in central support dependency over time
- Effective transition of training and enablement ownership to brand-level stakeholders
